In conventional days, marketing was done only by person, which can also be called as Offline Marketing which has now carried forward by online marketing. Online Marketing has said to have acquired a great place in the field of marketing during the mid 20th and began to shine in 21st century. Marketing through online in today’s world has become a part of business strategies.

Online marketing vs offline marketing

  • Cost is very low in online marketing, when compared to that of offline marketing.
    Contacting Customer through online marketing is easy and also efficient, whereas in offline marketing the face to face contact of the customer requires patience and one has to spend their long time.
  • Tracking the marketing usage is easier in online marketing, but in offline marketing it’s a big question mark “?”
  • Approach handled in offline marketing needs lot of potential to capture the customer, but in online it covers the vast usage market.
  • Advertising in the field of offline marketing is restricted with certain criteria, but in web marketing the time is unlimited. So, the attraction towards the customer is also more.
    Online marketing is not restricted to any time frame, it works 24/7 but in offline marketing will work in the particular timings.
  • Response to the customer in e-mail is quicker, effective, low of cost, and easily approachable. But in the offline marketing, postage or the communication is more expensive also there is a possibility of losing the efficacy.
  • Offline marketing is a traditional way of marketing, where the reachable capacity is high. Also the product designed to market should also be considered in this case of marketing. But in online marketing most of customers may not use internet, or they may not be aware of the ads in the online.

    Few difference between both types of marketing are the base, market penetration, customers approach, product promotion, expenses, customer care and the relationship information on the product. Through online marketing all the above said features are effectively possible but in offline marketing it is very rare. When marketing is taken in the broader analysis, there are many things that have to be taken for consideration. In the practical business scenario, both offline and online internet marketing is essential for a business to market their product.
