Choosing an Effective SEO Company - Tips & Tweaks

How to choose an effective SEO company? - This question rising in most of the Webmasters / Site owners mind now-a-days due to drastic increase of SEO companies in the market. Selecting one among the best might be very tedious job for them, if they are not much aware of the SEM Industry. Many authors have blogged about this and you might have read many articles related to this title.

Here I am blogging about some tips and tweaks which really help Webmasters / Site Owners in finding out best optimal SEO Company to survive in the SEO race. Nothing is easy as it looks. To make this job easier, some key factors have to be considered while doing analysis and research to get to know about nukes and corners of the company which offering cost-effective SEO services.

I don’t think no one could tell the whole truth about anything. That’s a pretty heavy burden, because we all just view the world with different eye sight. But if we stretch the truth we can come to know the reality. Based on this I could say that there are no reliable SEO companies. Yes, there might be many scam SEO companies but if you know what to look for when selecting a SEO company, the risk of hiring fraudsters gets reduced.

Be careful while selecting an SEO service for your website. Many people market them as professionals but they fail to deliver their customers with latest cutting-edge techniques that is required for ethical SEO handling. Few can change only the meta data and think that is enough. Or they offer “Submission to several number of search engines and directories for certain $ value.” Worst of all, they offer some black-hat tricks that makes you number one. Yes, there is no doubt you will be at number one position for certain days, but when the search engines figures out the trick, your website will surely get penalized or blacklisted as we know no one can escape from the Google’s eye. Here are some tips and tweaks for selecting an effective SEO company:

  • Seek for well established SEO companies with a solid list of clients.
  • Search for SEO companies or consultants in VendorRate.com, LinkedIn.com, Ecademy.com and Business.com.
  • If possible, just ask for a free website review and speak with them.
  • Look for their company portfolio, reviews and testimonials written by their clients.
  • If they aren’t using metrics to measure their SEO value, just ignore them.
  • Do they give assurance to guarantee number one ranking? If so, you have a serious reason to doubt their competencies. As the Google SEO selection tips says, no one can guarantee a number one ranking in Google. This is true even for less competitive words. Just ignore them.
  • Get recommendation and opinions from your friends, business partners, etc. through Words of mouth marketing.
  • To know more about the company and their services, just Google the company name and you can find information about them. Look for both positive impacts and negative pitfalls to check whether the company is real or scam.
  • Ask for the list of example sites they have optimized.
  • Do a simple site analysis on their corporate website. If they are not enough to optimize their own site, they are not worth hiring
  • Ask them for the list of keywords their website ranks for.
  • If you can’t find somebody or if you want to select the best optimal SEO company of your choice from the list, just post a thread in reputable Webmaster forums like Google Webmaster Help, Webmaster World, Digital Point, SEO Chat, Search Engine Watch, etc. However, beware that not all forum posters are honest people, so take their opinion and give importance to certain extent (no matter if they are positive or negative) with a grain of salt. As we know forums are not such a reliable source of information as in-person contact.
  • Make sure your project isn’t handed off to a junior staffer. Ask for the name of the person who will deal with your SEO work. Look at their resume and ask for their work profiles to know about their professional expertise. You may also ask them to explain their SEO process in detail and can test their knowledge by triggering out some tricky SEO questions.
  • Always keep in mind that you don’t need SEO to your entire site. You only need SEO work for your top entrance pages, your service pages, your product pages, and so on. Use analytics to find those pages that bring bulk traffic towards your website.
  • As we know content is the king in SEO kingdom, good quality content is more important than technical SEO and it always have it’s worth value both on user and search engine perspective. Hire professional writers to write definitive and descriptive content for your products and services. Contact the editors of magazines and ask them to recommend writers. Find books on your subject and contact the authors. Hire them to write an original article that is authoritative and useful.
  • High price does not guarantee high quality results. If suppose you are willing to pay more, it doesn’t mean that you will gain more. Just because a company charging more does not make them better SEO firm. There are many other several reasons for high prices and high quality is only one of them. For instance, the company might work inefficiently and this is the reason for their ridiculously high costs, not the quality of their work.

Finally, a real SEO company is the one which not only offer better SEO services, but also implementing things quite differently to make SEO better for their customers.
